Surround yourself in Silence.

It’s nice to surround yourself in silence. You finally start hearing your own voice clearly. A calm serenity settles down on your being and for that one moment of the day, you feel like yourself again. No influences from the outside. All you are and all you will be lies within.

The best time in your life to plant a tree was at birth, the second best time is now

What makes an event special? Is it the thought that went into it, when organizing the event? The way it was appreciated by the participant? Does it need to be extraordinary to be extraordinary or is it just special because it will never happen again? On that thought, a conversation in the future would also be unique and you will never ever have a conversation like it once more. Thus also making it special. Realizing, you don't want to postpone these conversations or "events" that you see as special till a time you have an excuse. The fact that we have these conversations makes it unique and meaningful, otherwise it would've been just another day. So let's not waste days anymore and make everyday an extraordinary one. Find that thing you really love doing and don't wait for a perfect moment to do it. Start doing it now.

Everything that had to happen happened, but nothing did - Paulo Coelho

There's nothing like being in a foreign country. The sun has set. Your friends and family are all sleeping or relaxing before going to bed. Some of them are a bit further away, living life underneath a still bright sun or watching the last rays waking or descending over the horizon. All is at peace and you are focussed. Music playing in the background, silently humming not to wake up one's dreaming. Life is good and tomorrow is yet to start.

Selfawareness

Have you ever experienced these moments, where you stand still, look around and just observe, without thinking? It's this moment where you don't judge, don't try to be part of or don't try to understand your environment. You just know you're there. At that certain time, in that certain place. You look around and "feel". The only thought that goes through your head is that you're there. Somehow that thought also comes with great happiness.

People are purpose-seeking creatures. It's in these moments that we stop to seek a purpose and just are.. Just be. Also you're happy you are. You are there. You don't "have to" do anything. You can pause and take a breather. You look around and think of what others are thinking. What's keeping them busy. It's with this thought, you can think: "Isn't this great?!" "I'm here. I have my life, my thoughts, my problems, my success and nobody will change that. Not even I have any clue what's about to happen next. But still, I acted the way I did, in the situations given and I will always act the way only I can." Some would consider this a misplaced feeling of being in control and it would scare them. For me, it means you shouldn't be to rough with yourself. You always tried to do your best. (Even if your wish is to do bad.) It's your life and YOU, only YOU can live it. And there will be nobody that could do it better or worse.

It's in that brief moment, even that last part doesn't matter anymore.. Because if it did, you're thoughts started to kick in again. It's that second, that state of awareness, that lifetime, in which you feel: it's good...

Life is a thing, when you learn, you grow

Self Reflection - January 18, 2011: 4:57 pm

What excites you about your life? About the world? What would you like to change about your life? About the World?
There are so many different cultures, different sorts of people, different opinions and ways of life. It fascinates me when I get in contact with life perspectives different then my own. I like to open up to new experiences and be in a constant change, to further develop myself on a personal level. (On a personal and social note, as to who I am myself, as a friend and as a person.) To find a life's situation, that fulfills both my personal and carreer goals. To live in a place that provides in all my needs and to be working in a team, on a subject that truly moves me as a person, in a team that is as passionate and wants to move forward with it as much as I do. To internally be peacefull, to have hardly any distractions, to leave this world, and all the things in it, touched with your presence and better than before.

Imagine today is your 30th birthday, and a reporter is writing a story about what you have done. What would you hope your friends, the people you work with, family members would say about you to this reporter?
He truly has lived wisely, loved well and served greatly.

Imagine you are celebrating your 25th Anniversary at work. Your Mentee is excited and listening to you about what is important in your life, your accomplishments, and your career milestones. What would yuo want to be able to tell him or her about your career, your life and what really matters to you?
What's important in life. To do the best you can. How life is a race, not against others, but against yourself. How yuo should constantly improve yourself, but not be demotivated when comparing to others. You shouldn't. How I have tried to follow my goals, never faltered and in doing so reached out and grasped my hearts desires. How I have added value, while keeping in touch with my core values and did the things with love and passion. How important it is, to do it your way. HOw important it is, that you are able to add value, by doing things your way, the way you love and the way you are good at them. Teach one and inspire one, that that is possible and that if one follows trough, in the end, one ends up in a position, where one truly wants to be and can thrive in.

A Different Color

Everyone has a different color, a different brightness radiating out from within. A different song playing a different tune. When that 'aura' leaves an impression, it becomes impossible to forget. Doesn't matter if you forget one's name or one's actions. Since you know, deep within, its insignificant towards his or her being.

Reach out to your full potential

Everyone probably has experienced it. An object falls underneath your
bed or closet and in order for you to get it, you have to get down,
flat on your stomach, to reach it. What mostly happens next is, that
the object seems JUST too far away for you being able to reach it
easily. You try to reach out, but you only softly stroke the object, making it
roll away even further. Just when you thought it was too far away
already, you decide to try again, now putting in that extra little
effort. Reaching out further and by doing so grasping the object. Now,
you start thinking, why didn't you put in that extra little effort in
the first place? Even with half the extra little effort, you would've
made it already. So next time something rolls underneath your bed. Try to think about it. Reach out already with that extra little potential inside you. Since sometimes old strategies/habits, don't cut it anymore. We have to run into a dead end in order for us to grow. Open up for new habits. Installing new thinking patterns. In doing so, reaching out to our full potential.

Power of thought

I've always had a feeling that whatever would happen in the future,
if I couldn't imagine it, it wouldn't happen. Oo You could call it foresight! If I couldn't foresee it, I couldn't believe in it.
Making it impossible to become true.

The opposite is also true.
When I imagined something in my minds vision,
it almost always came to part.

When you can imagine something, when you put your vision into reality in your mind's eye, that image or vision is automatically valued important. Of course it has to be, why would you bother trying to envision it otherwise, right? While doing so, you reflect your vision upon yourself. You weigh its possibility. If it's a vision that doesn't match your inner self, it's just impossible to puzzle it together in your mind. Hence, never happening, if you can't imagine it.

I found this to be mixed with a couple of beliefs.

In the book: "The Monk who sold his ferrari.", the fictional character, Yogi Raman, mentioned a lake:
Whenever the Yogis found something important, they'd take the time to go to the lake and envision their dream into the lake. Sitting there for hours, reflecting on the idea.

There's also another more general belief you can link to this:
The power of believing. Limits of the mind. People tend to say: You gotta belief in something. Stand for something. There are some people that take this to the extreme. They say: If you don't belief in something, just for the slightest part. It would never happen. So whatever you really want in life, just believe in it 100%. Since the only limits you have, are in the mind.

Possibly, what I wrote so far was influenced by this.
Hearing about it along the way, made it clearer to put it to words.
None the less, the feeling of the experience was definitely mine. Making it truth for me.
Most likely also the only way possible of ever experiencing it. =)

That special person

How come, when in love, your face shows fear.
Tough when passion is far away, control, laughter and confidence comes easily?

Find that special person, that loves that fear on your face,
because she knows, she's the only one that can help you, to get rid of it. ^^ Love might mean being the only two persons who can make each others weakest moments, their most precious and strongest ones. = )

Clarity

There are these moments in which we pause and think. Thoughts are
numerous, so I'm sure, those moments exist in different versions depending on the person who's living them. Not only do these moments vary from person to person, but also from the person's emotions, his mood and his momentarily taken mind-set. (Let's face it: one day we have a positive mind-set, the other day we think the entire world is set in motion against us.) The pause I want to talk about, is one I had in one of my more tranquil, clear moments. It's one of those pauses I just LOVE.

During this pause, you don't feel like you have to prove anything. You feel completely relaxed and comfortable about yourself. Every thought comes in clear and makes sense. You know who is dear to you. Who you love and why you love them and why they love you. A moment in which you observe - see this indeed as its most distant form, meaning not judging, not interfering - that all people are so different. Some people are acting differently. Mostly, because of human nature, we adapt, behave a bit differently. But it's just because of that pause, that moment of self-awareness, that you don't adapt. You stay yourself. You find yourself, being the person who you want to be, taken the good and bad. It's one of life's wonderful moments, that moment of Clarity.
